(POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – PR LOG – October 15, 2015) Military Makeover is elbow deep into renovating a house they will give away to an army veteran, his wife and daughters. Tune in to episode #3 of Military Makeover, presented by SunTrust Bank, Friday, October 16, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Lifetime® TV to see the progress of the renovations that are transforming the Florida house into an inviting and safe home for the Travis family.

Tommy Travis was deployed to Bagdad, Iraq where he suffered a brain injury after a grenade hit his Humvee. He has PSTD and traumatic brain injury. Wilma “Tinky” Stuart is the generous widow from a military family who wanted to pay it forward by donating her Eustis, Florida home to a deserving vet. Tune in to hear this inspiring story.

  • Lee Ermey, “The Gunny”, returns to host the series for the third time. Ermey, best known for his TV and Movie career, including his break-out role as the tough Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, is a retired United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and Drill Instructor.

The home’s renovations are made possible thanks to the generous donations of valued partners who teamed up with Military Makeover:

  • Furnishing a Military Makeover – with CORT Furniture

As CORT will be providing all the furniture for the Travis family’s new home, the Military Makeover crew heads to the local CORT Furniture Rental showroom to meet up with Adam Howard, CORT Regional Sales Manager to look around and get the CORT story. CORT, who offers specially priced options for military personnel, is proud to assist the military and their families, who move often — and may need to rent furnishings for an entire home or room by room, including wall décor, rugs or artwork. CORT will also take the furnishings away when a family leaves. Watch to see what furnishings were picked out for the home, a complete surprise for the Travises who will, with CORT’s help, live in comfort and style! Visit:   www.cort.com

  • Surge Protection – with Intermatic

People use surge strips to protect their PCs or TVs but may not realize that large appliances or other products can use surge protection as well. Intermatic, a family based business with a 125 year history, appreciates the men and women who serve our country and got involved with the series to help give back. Kimberly Durkot, Product Manager from Intermatic will join the episode to explain the 3 most common electrical failures, and talk about Intermatic controls that simplify a homeowner’s life and meet all electrical requirements — such as plastic waterproof outlet covers and in-wall controls. Intermatic donated energy control products for the Travis home. Visit: www.intermatic.com

  • The Makeover Moves Along – with Arpin Van Lines

Military families move from location to location with greater frequency than most, and Arpin Van Lines recognizes that. Captain Matt Dolan, a 24 year Navy veteran, Naval Aviator, and now with Arpin Van Lines, joins this episode to make helpful suggestions for anyone contemplating a move. Arpin is also instrumental in helping Tommy and Bethany pack up their belongings, load them into the truck and transport them to their new home.  Arpin Van Lines offers several discounts and incentives to various segments of our community, including servicemen and women, and is proud to have many retired military and honorably discharged veterans on their staff. • Home Away From Home – with WoodSpring Suites

Over the years, many military personnel have stayed at WoodSpring Suites, and as Angela Woolridge, Area Manager for WoodSpring explains, the extended stay hotel is happy to give back to a deserving vet and provide an extended stay for the Travis family while they wait for the renovations on their new home to be completed. WoodSpring Suites are built close to major highways and attractions in major metropolitan areas, provide all the amenities you need at a great value and are proud to offer a 99-point cleaning system, making sure every inch of the suite is cleaned. Viewers will get a tour of the suite comfortably laid out with full kitchen, living room and bedroom area. Visit: www.woodspring.com
